Many lawyers have had clients request assistance in making one of the most difficult decisions in life; placing a family member in a nursing home. The emotional roller coaster of dealing with a chronic illness and the decision to make a placement is often made worse by confronting the daunting task of qualifying for Medicaid benefits.

Qualifying for Medicaid is time consuming and distracting. If you are not filing applications on a regular basis the rules can be confusing and frustrating.

Medi-Services is in the business of processing Medicaid applications on a cost effective turnkey basis. Our experienced field representatives work with families to gather, organize and present a Medicaid application to the local Medicaid intake office. To date we have processed over 40,000 applications.

We believe that what we offer to clients can be of value to you. Medi-Services is available to work as a sub-contractor with your firm. We will assign one of our trained representatives to handle all of the paperwork.

There are two ways our service can be implemented:

• The Medi-Services field representative will come to your office, meet with your client and process all the necessary information; or
• The Medi-Services field representative will contact your client directly.

Either way, your firm is in complete control. Our field representatives are not lawyers and do not give any legal advice. They simply gather raw data, fill out the Medicaid application, attach the verifications and submit the application to the local Medicaid intake office.

The cost for processing the application is a flat fee of $750 paid by your law firm. This fee is payable at the first meeting between your client and a trained and experienced Medi-Services field representative at your office. Another alternative is to just refer your client directly to us. Let us know what legal work has been done, and we will proceed with the medicaid application and charge the family the $750* fee (which comes from the patient's spendown). There are no additional charges, regardless of the complexity of the application. Medi-Services continues working on the case until Medicaid is granted.

*The $750 fee, when paid by the family, is an acceptable spendown item per the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
